About us

In October 2024, the newly inaugurated district leadership set out to ensure that local residents, civil organizations and social groups can actively participate in dialogue and joint decision-making on matters affecting our community. In December 2024, at the mayor’s proposal and by unanimous vote of the representative body, the Office for Social Cooperation and Community Relations (also known simply as the Community Participation Office, Közösségi Részvételi Iroda in Hungarian) was established to expand opportunities for public involvement.

The Community Pariticpation Office serves as a bridge between the municipality’s other departments and institutions and the district’s inhabitants, making official procedures more transparent and accessible. It gives residents an insight into district affairs through community events and public forums organized by the office—and, starting in autumn 2025, through a participatory budgeting program.

Among its chief responsibilities, the office will support and promote local civic life, coordinate assistance for social organizations, foster meaningful dialogue, and establish a district-wide database of civic groups. Additionally, the office aims to develop a structured volunteer network and a system for collecting donations, drawing on the district’s social traditions, community strengths, and the generosity of its citizens.

The Community Participation Office is located at Böszörményi út 19/A (street-level entrance) and is open to all district residents in office hours: 1pm-5.30pm Mondays, 1pm-4pm Wednesdays and 8am-2pm Thursdays.
